Row row row my teeth

As I brush my teath,
Its a row row row my teeth,
Swiming in foam,
Of paste so sweet,
Kicking rocks and leaves,
Its a row row row my teath,
Kicking hard rocks and teeth,
Brush in my hands,
To clear out dry leaves,
Sweep off dust,
Leave my tiny ocean fresh,
White and shiny my teeth,
With great breath.
Its a row row row my teeth.

Brushing Teeth

Shwa, shwa, shwa,
In my mouth,
Brush to the sides,
To the top and down,
Open my mouth,
For inside too,
Shwa, shwa shwa,
I dont forget my tongue,
Shwa, shwa, shwa

Hide and seek on my shirt

A stone on my shirt,
Slip through a hole,
It comes to the top,
Peep through the hole,
Till I pinch with my nails.

The collar on my shirt,
Hide and lost on my neck,
I stretch with my hand,
Then fold to the back.

Down to my waist,
I tuck to the short,
It's hide and seek,
Collar, buttons and,
Into my pants.

Nana Duck

Nana duck was very old but a favorite of many chicks. the chicks loved her because she liked telling them nice stories. but that was not enough, she would give them honey to lick and nuts to munch throughout the story telling time. every evening, they could set off for Nana ducks' house. they would swing their tails from side to side and their beaks could cluck all the way. they knew how to keep it cluck! cluck! cluck! cluck!

When they went to Nana duck one evening, she decided to play a trick on them. she wanted to know the motive which always drove the chicks to her house every evening. she was convinced that some were more interested in her honey and nuts more than the stories she always told the,m. a trick would do on this day to prove her suspicions right or wrong.

The chicks knocked her door as usual singing the favourite songs she had taught them.
'Nana duck Nana duck, give us some honey today'
'Oh! Nana duck has no honey today!'
'Nana duck Nana duck give us some nuts today'
'Oh! Nana duck has no nuts today!'
'Nana duck Nana duck, tell us some stories today'
'Oh! Nana duck has stories for chicks everyday!.'

When Nana duck told them that she had no nuts or honey for the day, most of the chicks got very disappointed. they were used to hearing ' Here are some honey and nuts my lovely little chicks.' when she invited them in, only a few got into the house. some went away in protest because they felt  they could listen to no stories without honey and nuts. in fact, they never cared about the stories. they loved the nuts and honey more.

those who did not mind about nuts and honey went inside and sat in front of Nana duck. she was so pleased with them that she said,
' You are very wise chicks. it is never a good idea to value rewards more than wisdom. Luck only knocks once on every mans door. The stories I tell you everyday are a bunch of the wisdom that I have learnt during my years of stay in this world. You may never know what you are going to lose if you pay no attention to wise people and only look for gifts. look here, see all the honey and nuts that I had!'

She uncovered the snacks which she had covered up in a tray beside her. on top of the usual nuts and honey, they also had packets f sweets and fruits. she also bought very beautiful cloths and toys for the chicks. the chicks got very impressed and were so thrilled at the gifts they got from Nana duck that night.

' I will tell you no stories today. the lesson you have got from that trick is enough. now I want you all to eat as much as you wish. make choices of the cloths too and get dressed up because I have a huge better surprise ahead.'

As the little beautiful chicks sprung to their feet munching this and that to go and change, Nana duck hummed sweeet old tunes for them. the chicks were so happy and kept praising Nana duck for her delicious snacks. they were soon all dressed up and ready for the surprise which Nana duck had in store for them.

'Wow! beautiful little chicks!' Nana explained as they emerged through the door in their new dresses. she told them to make a semi circle and then, getting in front of them announced that they were going to have a dance! The chicks could not believe it. They got so excited and as soon as Nana duck started humming her sweet tunes, the little chicks wagged theit tails in rhythm to her sweet voice.

At the beginning, they tried their best to keep the noise minimal, excitement soon grew and they were so much carried away with the fun of the night that they soon got the tunes at the top of their voices waking up the villagers. the weet tunes prenetrated the tree foliages in the village and soon one by one, cluck! cluck! cluck! the vilagers started trickling into Nana ducks home. No one bothered about having been woken up from sleep, they just wanted to join in usnison with the sweet tunes and dance the night away.

Soon, Nana duck's home was so full and all the villagers were happy. the whole village got into one tempo, trees danced, grass danced, and even the moon on top of the sky swayed to the tunes from the duck village. The moon shone brighter than usual and produced a beautiful glow that made the dancing villagers to seem like angels in paradise.

Even the chicks who had left Nana ducks home came to her home to join in the dance. they first looked for Nana duck and apologised for their mistake earlier in the night. they could not stop blaming each other for having been the reason for leaving Nana duck's home. soon they were over with their pain and joined the rest in the dance.

All went home cluck! cluck! cluck! when the dance ended. the following day was a wonderful one as everyone was happy for the previous night's dance. they seemed to be in light spirits and went cluck! cluck! as they performed their daily chores.

Barely in the afternoon, alll the chicks in the village were in Nana ducks compound playing chearfully. their cluck! cluck! calls to each other filled the air as they waited for Nana duck to get back from home from wherever she had gone. Nana duck soon emerged from the gate carrying a huge bundle of firewood.

cluck! cluck! cluck! ran the young ducks to her. they asked her to put her bundle down and divided it between themselves and carried the wood to the house. Nana duck followed them behind in slow strides glad that the chicks were around to help her. cluck! cluck! cluck! she chuckled with the chicks as she gave them nuts and honey to lick.

Kiki and the Bird

Not so long ago, there lived a young boy by the name Tikiki. he is a father right now and has gone through a very wonderful life. but am sure that you boys and girls have met a Tikiki somewhere. maybe, you have done things like those he used to do.

Mr Tikiki is my uncle, do you have an uncle? has he ever told you a story? uncle Tikiki tells me stories and you should ask your uncle to tell you sweet stories too. today, he is going to tell you and i a story so, let us sit still and listen to one of the sweet uncle Tikiki's stories.

'I was a young boy just like my nephew here is. about four years or slightly older. we lived i the village where we could get a lot of clay to mold. I am told that you boys and girls model with plasticine. I loved to model. Most of the boys and girls my age did too.

I could model cars, and people. It was always fun modeling mama, daddy and my little sister. but my sister Phina never loved the sight of my models' of her. they would make her to get into fits and cry herself out. this never stopped me from modeling her though it earned me so many beatings from my mom. dad never cared, or maybe it is because he was seldom home. He was always busy not like now that even your mama's get busy and you can carry your mischief though don't tell her I said so.

I loved to watch the television too. but in our days, the television only showed black and white. It was still thrilling but am sure I would have loved it more if it had colour. We never had a television set of our own but that was never a problem. Our neighbours would always let me into their home to watch with them. Phina loved it every time there was a bird series going on or a favourite cartoon series that i enjoyed.

this would always be her point of retaliation about my modeling of her long nose. she has a long nose Now and please do not let her know that I said her nose used to be long. maybe it just like appearing long in my models. She could tell my mom about my watching TV at the neighbours. I can not say what would follow but all you boys and girls who have parent that have bought TV in the home, say thank you to mama and daddy because of that. okay?

Good. my fascination with birds never died with the lashes though. I wanted to know how birds managed to fly. No one could ever tell me this and it kepd nagging me. everyone I asked told me that only the birds knew why and how they could fly. It made me to long more to be like a baird. to have a secret that many did not have and wished to know. But only the birds could tell me the secret.

Everyday, I tried to find a bird to make friends with. I needed a revelation of the secret badly. I wanted to fly. fly in the air spread my wings and go away. where mama could not reach me with her lashes. I wondered if the birds could talk, all I needed was a bird of my own. with no option, of ever getting close to any bird, I had to mold a bird for myself.

I now had a bird. just my own but it could not speak, and flying, is a story for another day.

But my story does not end there, it has grown with Kiki. at frist I used to wonder why they gave him my name. but today, as we walked in the garden and he forced me that he needed a bird of his own, I knew why. We both desire to fly. but something tragic happened,

I managed to get a bird for Kiki but as he held the breathing bird in his hands, the warmth from it must have scared him. He kept squeezing the bird it almost fainted. I had to rescue the poor bird to see if it could be our friend and tell us the story about flying. But that never was, our sweet little bird died. probably to keep their secret conceled.

Now I know, that birds never speak, and I will never fly. But Kiki's tears, took me so many years back and I had to console him with a story of my own experience. of a life I lived and a longing that will never die in me. I hope boys and girls, that you would learn to make decisions which are not out of reach as you grow up, but those you would be able to achieve. Do not desire wings, to fly fast through your life, just take a stride at a time in the light of the Lord and you will get there. It is time for play now.......

Thank you uncle Tikiki for your wonderful story. I have stopped looking for wings and birds. they cant talk and I will never grow wings to fly. but you should not have told them that I have been crying about a bird. Now everyone is laughing at me.

Good Night Jesus

Before I sleep,
I talk to my God,
Thank you for the day,
I went to school,
And am back home,
The stars in the sky can dance like me,
The moon shinning sweet,
Like its day again,
As I go to bed,
May angels come too,
Watch over me,
And see me through,
Sleep with me Jesus,
Have a good night.

Good Morning Jesus

When I wake in the morning,
I say good morning to Jesus,
Thank you for the night,
Thank you for the angels,
Watched over me,
Am awake and alive,
I can play in the fields,
See my parents,
And praise your name,
Jesus you teach me,
To be a good child,
Good to my elders,
Good to my friends,
Protect this world,
And bless this day.
